Elgin Charles, the star of VH1's upcoming "Beverly Hills Fabulous" reality show, stopped by CBS chat fest "The Talk" yesterday to promote the new show and give the ladies a lesson in weave-ology. But first, he sat on the couch with ex-wife, actress Jackée, and the two flamboyant personalities talked about their life together.
Elgin revealed that he and Jackee were married for seven years but have since divorced, while remaining great friends. In fact, they currently live together and co-parent their 17-year-old son. Yes, our eyebrows were raised too.
One of the hosts asked the twosome why they got a divorce. While I extra confident I knew the answer, both answered that Jackée didn't want to be married. I mean, I can think of a few other possibilities as to why this marriage didn't work. But I digress.
The duo then gave the ladies a brief history of the "weave" and Jackée revealed that weaves have been around for many years but the secret was kept from black women in the beginning. She first learned about them from Loni Anderson and Suzanne Somers.
Jackée told the panel she is serious about her weaves and would snatch hair from a small pony if she had too. Hilarity.
